| Endless Vacation Rentals crafts a social media campaign on a small budget (InternetRetailer.com) Posted: 29 Mar 2010 09:45 AM PDT  Endless Vacation Rentals produced significant results last year with a low-budget social marketing campaign through YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, according to Jessica Kornacki, vice president of global sales and marketing at Endless Vacation Rentals, an online business launched in 2007 by hospitality giant Wyndham Worldwide. Kornacki will give tips about the experience of Endless Vacation Rentals in a session entitled Creating a successful social media campaign: What works, what doesnt . Social media is much talked about, with a lot of hype, but also a ton of real potential, Kornacki says. In the session, Ill be sharing practical, real and tangible ways to approach it so that attendees can walk away with ways to test, measure and integrate social media as a part of their overall marketing strategy. The goal of the campaign was to test whether social networks could help build awareness of Endless Vacation Rentals. Working with search marketing firm iProspect, the marketing team at Endless Vacation Rentals created a contest at a microsite called YourFatChance.com where consumers could submit their hard luck stories. They then promoted the contest through YouTube, Facebook and Twitter and with a paid search campaign that had a total budget of $1,000. Tens of thousands of consumers participated in the contest by submitting entries, entering instant-win contests or voting on the finalists. And 8,000 opted in to receive e-mails from Endless Vacation Rentals. The success of the four-month campaign led the company to make plans for bigger social media marketing this year.
